The TCI Breakaway 240900 is an 11 in non-lock-up torque converter for GM TH350 and TH400 dual-pattern applications. It uses furnace-brazed fins, needle bearings, a hardened pre-ground pump hub, computer balancing, and a dual bolt pattern.

This converter is aimed at moderately modified street machines and weekend racers that still see daily-driver use. It provides a 2200 to 2400 RPM stall range and is built to improve low-end power and acceleration without requiring vehicle modifications.

TCI notes that the Breakaway is a bolt-in converter with no modifications required. This version does not include an anti-ballooning plate; TCI points to 240901 for the heavy-duty anti-balloon plate version.
