Returns & Refunds

Last updated: July 16, 2026

We want customers to receive the correct product in new, usable condition. This policy explains when a return may be accepted, how to request authorization, which costs may apply, and how damaged, incorrect, or defective products are handled.

Return Window

Eligible products may be returned within 30 days after delivery.

A return request must be submitted within the 30-day period. Products sent back without prior authorization may be refused and returned to the sender.

Return Authorization Required

Contact Modridge before returning any product. We will review the request and, if approved, provide return instructions and a Return Merchandise Authorization, also known as an RMA or RGA.

Do not ship a product back to the manufacturer, distributor, warehouse, or the address shown on the original shipping label unless Modridge specifically instructs you to do so.

Return locations vary by product and fulfillment source.

Return Eligibility

To qualify for a standard return, the product must be:

  • New and unused;
  • Uninstalled and unmodified;
  • Complete, with all hardware, accessories, instructions, documentation, and components;
  • In its original, undamaged manufacturer packaging; and
  • In resalable condition.

Packaging must not contain additional writing, labels, tape, or shipping markings unless required by the return instructions. Manufacturer packaging should be placed inside a separate shipping box whenever possible.

Proof of Purchase

A valid Modridge order number is required for all return, refund, damage, shortage, and warranty requests.

We may also request photographs of the product, packaging, labels, part number, serial number, condition, and all included components before authorizing a return.

Return Shipping

For standard returns that are not caused by a Modridge shipping error, product defect, or confirmed transit damage, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

Return shipping should include tracking and adequate insurance. The customer is responsible for the product until it is received at the authorized return location.

Modridge is not responsible for returns lost or damaged during return transportation when the customer arranged the shipment.

Original Shipping Charges

Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable after an order has shipped.

This includes standard, oversized, freight, address correction, redelivery, storage, return-to-sender, and other carrier charges.

Original shipping may be refunded when the return results from a confirmed Modridge error, an incorrect product shipment, or where required by applicable law.

Restocking Fees

Approved returns may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 20% of the product price.

The applicable fee depends on the product, condition, packaging, fulfillment source, manufacturer or distributor requirements, and the reason for return.

Additional deductions may apply when a product is incomplete, packaging is damaged, components are missing, or the return requires repackaging or special handling.

A product that is no longer resalable may be refused and may not qualify for a refund.

Non-Returnable Products

The following products are generally not eligible for standard return:

  • Installed, used, altered, modified, assembled, or tested products;
  • Products showing installation marks, wear, fluids, fuel, oil, exhaust residue, electrical connection marks, or other evidence of use;
  • Products with missing hardware, accessories, documentation, labels, or components;
  • Custom-made, made-to-order, special-order, personalized, painted, or modified products;
  • Clearance, discontinued, closeout, scratch-and-dent, or final-sale products;
  • Mounted or used wheels and tires;
  • Programmers, tuners, calibrators, electronic control products, or software-activated products after opening, programming, licensing, installation, or use;
  • Opened electrical or electronic products where the manufacturer or distributor restricts returns;
  • Incomplete kits or individual components removed from a kit;
  • Hazardous, chemical, restricted, or regulated products;
  • Products containing a core charge unless a separate core-return process has been approved; and
  • Any product identified as non-returnable before purchase or on the product page.

A product that is not eligible for standard return may still qualify for manufacturer warranty review when a confirmed defect exists.

Freight and Oversized Returns

Freight and oversized products require prior written approval before return.

The customer may be responsible for the actual return freight cost, including pickup, liftgate, residential, storage, redelivery, packaging, palletizing, or other carrier charges.

Freight products must be securely packaged and, when required, returned on an appropriate pallet. Products returned without adequate protection may be refused or subject to deductions for damage.

Freight charges can be substantial. Contact Modridge before making any return arrangements.

Incorrect Products

If you receive a product that does not match your order, contact Modridge before installation or use.

Provide the order number and photographs of:

  • The product received;
  • The manufacturer part number and product labels;
  • The shipping label;
  • The packaging; and
  • All items included in the shipment.

After confirming the shipping error, Modridge will provide instructions for return, replacement, or refund.

Do not install, modify, discard, or ship the product elsewhere before receiving instructions.

Missing Products or Components

Report missing products, hardware, or components promptly after delivery.

Keep all packaging and provide photographs of the complete shipment, box contents, shipping labels, product labels, and any visible package damage.

Modridge will review the shipment records and work with the fulfillment source or carrier to determine the appropriate resolution.

Products Damaged in Transit

Transit damage must be reported according to the inspection and reporting requirements in our Shipping Policy.

For parcel shipments, contact Modridge promptly after discovering the damage.

For freight shipments, visible damage or shortages must be written on the delivery receipt or bill of lading before signing. Concealed freight damage must be reported within 48 hours after delivery.

Keep the product, manufacturer packaging, shipping box, pallet, wrapping, labels, and all packing materials until the claim has been resolved.

Do not install, use, repair, modify, discard, or return a damaged product without instructions from Modridge.

Defective Products

A product that appears defective is not automatically treated as a standard return.

Contact Modridge with your order number, a description of the issue, installation details, photographs, videos where useful, and any diagnostic information requested.

The product may require troubleshooting, manufacturer review, inspection, testing, or warranty authorization before a replacement, repair, credit, or refund can be approved.

Defective products are also subject to the terms of our Warranty Policy and the applicable manufacturer warranty.

Refused and Undeliverable Shipments

A shipment should not be refused unless Modridge instructs you to refuse it or the product is clearly destroyed or unsafe to unload.

A refused, unclaimed, or undeliverable shipment that is not caused by a confirmed Modridge error may be treated as an unauthorized return.

The following may be deducted from any approved refund:

  • Original shipping charges;
  • Return shipping or freight;
  • Carrier interception or return-to-sender charges;
  • Storage, redelivery, and address correction fees; and
  • Applicable restocking fees.

Order Cancellations

Cancellation requests must be submitted as soon as possible. An order is not canceled until Modridge confirms the cancellation.

We cannot guarantee cancellation after an order has been submitted to a warehouse, prepared for shipment, assigned tracking, or shipped.

If the order has shipped, it must be handled as a return under this policy. Original shipping, return shipping, freight, carrier interception, and restocking costs may apply.

Exchanges

Modridge does not operate a standard direct-exchange program.

If you need a different product, the original product must generally be returned and approved under this policy, and a new order must be placed separately.

Replacement of an incorrect, damaged, or defective product may be handled separately based on the circumstances and product availability.

Return Inspection

All returned products are inspected after delivery to the authorized return location.

Inspection may take up to 10 business days after the return is received.

Approval depends on the product’s condition, completeness, packaging, eligibility, and compliance with the provided return instructions.

Receiving a return does not guarantee that a refund will be approved.

Refunds

If the return is approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method, less any applicable shipping charges, return costs, restocking fees, missing-item deductions, or other authorized charges.

After Modridge issues the refund, the customer’s bank, card issuer, payment provider, or financial institution may require additional time to post the funds.

Modridge cannot issue refunds to a different payment method unless required by applicable law.

Rejected Returns

If a return is rejected because it is ineligible, used, installed, incomplete, damaged, improperly packaged, or outside the return window, the customer may be responsible for the cost of shipping the product back.

Products that are abandoned or not reclaimed after notice may be handled as permitted by applicable law.
